Education Assistant (On-Call)

Education Assistants collaborate with teachers, counsellors and school administrators in support of learner success and work closely with the classroom teacher to assist with designated aspects of program delivery.

On-Call education assistants are required to be available Monday-Friday for a variety of school and district office assignments, and will be eligible to apply for internal positions as they become available.
You could be asked to work in any one of our schools or district offices, reaching all borders of Surrey and White Rock.
All successful applicants are required to join the CUPE Union Local 728. As per the CUPE collective agreement, the starting wage for this position is $29.15 per hour with an attractive benefit package also available.
Although responsibilities vary from site to site, the education assistants’ duties within the school setting include, but are not limited to: collecting data for tracking student progress, providing personal care assistance with dressing, toileting, feeding and/or mobility (such as lifting), and fostering independence through social interactions and supporting adaptations to help the student work at a meaningful instructional level.
Education and Experience
- Successful completion of an Education Assistant Diploma/Certificate program from a recognized institution or equivalent combination of education and experience
