Suzhou Industrial Park Foreign Language School
Suzhou Industrial Park Foreign Language School is looking for a secondary Chemistry teacher who can teach Grade 11 and 12 Chemistry. Ability to teach math would be a definite asset. They
must be able to qualify for a British Columbia Professional Teaching
BC Independent School Teaching Certificate, or a System Restricted
Teaching Certificate (See below for more information).
SIPFLS operates a Grade 10 to 12 BC Program (a school within a school) for 200 Chinese and international students who plan to attend post secondary institutions in Canada or another western country after graduation. Instruction in the program is in English and is provided by BC certified teachers who follow the BC Curriculum leading to the Dogwood Graduation Diploma. The BC Program is fully certified and is subject to annual inspections by the BC Ministry of Education. The current campus was established six years ago and facilities on the campus have been developed each year. The BC program moved into a new building in September of 2014. Classrooms offer internet connection, white boards, wide screen televisions and individually controlled heating and air conditioning systems. Suzhou is a pleasant city to live in with Western restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops, movie theatres, and easy access to Shanghai (30 minutes by high speed train) and a sub-tropical temperate climate year round. Many teachers enjoy exploring the surrounding countries in South East Asia on their holidays.
The students (15 to 18 year olds) predominantly come from highly supportive families who value education. They tend to be well behaved and hard working and engage fully in the life of the school.
