Manager, Electrical Department
District Facilities Centre

The Surrey School District 36 and the District Facilities Centre is seeking a motivated individual to take on the busy role of Manager of Electrical. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Facilities the Manager of Electrical will be responsible for planning, managing and providing oversight for the District Electrical Department including renovations, maintenance, installations and projects across 140 District sites. This key management role works closely with other District departments and outside agencies, provides exceptional leadership to the Electrical Department staff, and acts in the capacity of the electrical expert for District projects and initiatives.
The District Facilities team values applicants who are eager to learn and excited to grow their leadership career with the stable and structured Surrey School District team. As the leader of the District’s high performing Electrical Department the ideal candidate would spend a considerable amount of time with project management, plan reviews, and handling complex technical issues. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with exceptional people skills and the ability to provide exceptional client care to both our District staff and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate for this position must possess:
- A Red Seal trade qualification in a related electrical trade and/or comparable education;
- 5 years of relevant field experience, including 2 years in a leadership/supervisory capacity;
- Experience in facility maintenance in a busy, multi-site organization;
- Current Field Safety Representative
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Class 5 driver’s license;
- Preference given to applicants with project management experience and/or education.
This position is based out of the District Facilities Centre in the heart of Surrey. The Surrey School District offers an attractive salary and benefits package, including a municipal pension plan.
