Hastings is a large dual track school with 13 French divisions and 14 English divisions. Hastings enjoys a rich cultural diversity and an active parent community. It is a Tier 2 Enhanced Services school and a member of the Templeton Community School team. Our school goals for the year are focused on Indigenous learning and Universal Design for Learning to improve literacy skills.

POSITION DETAILS:
The school library program is primarily based on collaboratively planned and taught units of study developed through the shared expertise and equal partnership of classroom teachers and teacher-librarians. The principles of resource-based learning are incorporated at all levels of the program to achieve the educational goals of the school.
The Teacher-Librarian:
- Places a priority of staff relationships and leadership in the implementation of change
- Knows curriculum programs mandated by the province, district and school
- Uses appropriate information technology to acquire, organize and disseminate information
- Manages the school library and library programs, services and staff to support the stated educational goals of the school
- Evaluates library program and services
- Degree/diploma in Teacher-Librarianship, or enrolled in courses for a degree/diploma in Teacher-Librarianship is required
- Classroom teaching experience an asset
- Experience in the selection, management and utilization of learning resources
- Experience in managing a school library and working with teachers to design and implement resource-based instructional programs
- Native or native-like fluency in both oral French and written French is required, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills in English is required
- Library prep will be for both English and French classes
