The Board of Education is inviting applications for the position of Payroll Manager for Surrey Schools. Surrey is a large, dynamic and progressive school district with approximately 74,000 students and over 11,000 staff.
This position requires leadership, vision and direction to a team of payroll professionals in a fast paced department.
The Payroll Manager requires primary management responsibility in accurately paying district staff; ensuring compliance with collective agreements, contracts, policies and procedures; and compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
The candidate must have a thorough knowledge of current payroll practices and related statutory requirements, combined with skill in resolving complex problems and meeting deadlines and will possess excellent organizational, interpersonal and mentorship skills.
This position requires a relevant post-secondary degree (accounting, business administration, or related field), Payroll Manager certification (CPM), and a minimum of five years of recent experience managing a large, complex payroll system in a unionized environment.
