St Ann’s Parish in Abbotsford BC is a new daycare and needs Early Childhood Educators (ECE) to assist in this exciting new venture.  We are looking for a caring, patient educator to work with a toddler group ages 18 to 36 months.  The requirements for the ideal candidate are as follows:

Qualifications: Education, Training and Experience:

  • Certificate in Early Childhood Education, plus Special Needs and/or Infant Toddler.
  • BC ECE License to practice.
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Minimum one (1) year recent related experience preferred

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in creating a caring, child-centered learning environment where children feel they belong
  • Assist in developing individualized and group curriculum based on the unique strengths and requirements of the children.
  • Promote children's sense of well-being and joy of learning through daily activities which foster social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth in a safe environment furnished with age-appropriate materials.
  • Plan, observe and record children's learning experiences in both indoor and outdoor environments supporting children's exploration and curiosity.
  • Communicate respectfully with children during interactions to promote feelings of belonging and inclusiveness.
  • Develop collaborative communication with families regarding children's progress and behavior, bearing in mind parents' concerns for the well-being of their children.
  • Foster physical development and well-being through daily routines, including meal times and snacks as well as personal care such as diapering, toileting, sleeping and administering first aid and medication if necessary, in accordance with established Policy and Procedures.
  • Support, encourage and collaborate with colleagues including management and staff members, particularly those new to the profession.
  • Performs other related duties as required
