Reporting to the Senior Manager, the position of Manager, Human Resources is a generalist role that will be responsible for providing advice and assistance related to the interpretation and administration of the support staff collective agreements. Responsibilities include recruitment and selection of administrative and excluded staff as well as supervising the internal posting and staffing process; assisting with job evaluation, accommodation, return to work programs, and professional development activities. The successful candidate will also provide assistance with misconduct and harassment investigations, performance evaluations, the grievance process, and collective bargaining.
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Human Resource Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You have a minimum of seven years successful experience in Human Resource Management and a CPHR designation. Experience working in public education or a complex public sector unionized environment is an asset. You have a proven track record for superior organizational, management, leadership, communication and problem-solving skills that promote effective working relationships. You are proficient with computer applications and relevant technology, specifically with Human Resource Management Systems. You have a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and the ability to balance several tasks while completing a variety of diverse projects in a timely manner. You have an excellent understanding of HR standards and best practices, collective agreements, human rights, and other employment legislation.
