Schools District No. 52 (Prince Rupert) is located within traditional Ts’msyen Territory on the beautiful north coast of B.C. and services the City of Prince Rupert and the small communities of Hartley Bay and Port Edward. Currently the district has one secondary school, one middle school, five elementary schools, one store-front alternate school and one “on reserve” school (Hartley Bay, K-12). Our student population is approximately 2,000 students, 60% of which are aboriginal.

Director of Operations
The Director of Operations reports to the Secretary Treasurer of School District 52. The Director is responsible for providing leadership and direction to maintenance and custodial crews that service district facilities including the schools in Prince Rupert and Port Edward.
This position carries with it a wide variety of accountabilities including capital asset management, maintenance and capital project planning/delivery, energy management, transportation, financial management, labour relations as well as health and safety. The Director of Operations must be a great communicator and facilitator to enable unionized crews to successfully complete many varied projects throughout the school year. As a planner, the Director of Operations has a working knowledge of a variety of building systems, including structural, building envelope, mechanical and electrical systems related to physical plants.
The successful candidate should have experience working in the public sector, a background in Construction Management, a Building Engineering Degree, PMP or GSC designation, or is a qualified Tradesperson with 5 to 10 years related experience working with institutional buildings.
