Central Okanagan Public Schools (School District No. 23), Kelowna BC, provides education services to over 23,000 students in the communities of Peachland, West Kelowna, Kelowna, Lake Country and the Regional District of Central Okanagan. 

 

We are currently hiring:

 TEMPORARY PART-TIME TOUCHPOINT LABOURERS

 

Under the direction of the Custodial Manager, or designate, the touchpoint labourer will complement the current disinfecting processes at school sites. Focus will be on touchpoint cleaning during the day. This position may be required to work at various locations.

These positions will be working 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, with potential for additional hours.

The end date of these temporary positions will be June 30, 2021.

Applicants for Custodial positions must have completed Grade 10 and one year experience in cleaning or custodial environment is considered as an asset.

Successful applicants will also be expected to:

  • Possess the physical condition and health to carry out the duties in a safe and efficient manner;
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness;
  • Work with minimum supervision and follow instructions;
  • Work alone and within a team environment;
  • Maintain excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Communicate effectively, both orally, in writing and via email;
  • Complete a criminal record check;
  • Complete on-line safety courses, including WHMIS.

 

The hourly wage for this position is $22.83 with an additional 4% of bi-weekly earnings in lieu of vacation, 4.6% of straight time earnings in each pay period in lieu of statutory holidays and $1.50 per hour in lieu of benefits when working 20 hours or more per week.
