The Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese (the CISVA) operates 47 schools – 40 elementary and seven high schools. Our footprint extends over 250 kilometres, from Powell River in the west to Chilliwack in the east.

St. John Paul II Academy - Enter to Learn. Leave to Serve - is the newest high school in the Archdiocese of Vancouver. We opened in Sept. 2018 and are currently in our 3rd full year of operation with students in Gr. 8 -10. We are presently operating out of the Star of the Sea Parish Centre and plan to be in our new school building, located on 10 acres of property at 182nd and 24th Ave in Surrey, during the 2022-23 school year.
We are proud to have our new high school named after this humble, spiritual, and missionary leader. St. John Paul II will serve as a wonderful model to all those associated with our community.
St. John Paul II Academy, the newest high school in the Archdiocese of Vancouver, is seeking an enthusiastic full-time Math / Science teacher for the 2021-22 school year.
The successful candidate must hold a valid teaching degree and is certified with the BC Teacher Regulation Branch. Ideally, the candidate most suitable for this position would be flexible enough to teach math and science in Gr. 8 - 11, be a strong team player, and demonstrate an enthusiastic interest in extra-curricular activities outside the classroom.
The position of St. John Paul II Academy is to hire, when available, qualified Catholic applicants who, in addition to carrying out their professional responsibilities, will exhibit conduct consistent with the Catholic denominational standard and model espoused by St. John Paul II in their professional and personal life.
