Grounds Worker (Temporary)

 

 

North Vancouver School District 44 is seeking a skilled Grounds Worker to perform a variety of landscaping and horticulture duties across various district sites. Under the direction of a supervisor, you will perform general maintenance, complete renovation and grounds construction tasks, and delivery of materials and equipment. To carry out your day-to-day tasks, you will have to safely operate a light vehicle, tractor/backhoe and trailer, and other grounds equipment.

 

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Two years’ related work experience in landscape or horticulture

  • Completion of grade 12 or equivalent, supplemented by a certificate in landscaping or horticulture or related field

  • Valid BC driver’s license

  • Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools and equipment

  • Sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to safely perform manual tasks

  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and read plans and sketches

 

This temporary unionised (CUPE) position pays $27.95 per hour and starts immediately. The end date for this temporary contract is December 31st, 2018 or at the return date of the Incumbent.
