Grounds Worker (Temporary)
North Vancouver School District 44 is seeking a skilled Grounds Worker to perform a variety of landscaping and horticulture duties across various district sites. Under the direction of a supervisor, you will perform general maintenance, complete renovation and grounds construction tasks, and delivery of materials and equipment. To carry out your day-to-day tasks, you will have to safely operate a light vehicle, tractor/backhoe and trailer, and other grounds equipment.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
Two years’ related work experience in landscape or horticulture
Completion of grade 12 or equivalent, supplemented by a certificate in landscaping or horticulture or related field
Valid BC driver’s license
Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools and equipment
Sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to safely perform manual tasks
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and read plans and sketches
This temporary unionised (CUPE) position pays $27.95 per hour and starts immediately. The end date for this temporary contract is December 31st, 2018 or at the return date of the Incumbent.
