ADMINISTRATIVE OPPORTUNITY

In anticipation of vacancies, School District #42 invites applications to join the Principal and Vice Principal Cohort from individuals who are seeking opportunities to work as part of our Administrative leadership team for the upcoming 2018/19 school year. Preference will be given to internal candidates that meet the necessary requirements of these roles.

 IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL DEMONSTRATE:

rA Master’s degree or be currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree program in an appropriate educational field

rMembership, or eligibility for membership, with the British Columbia Teacher Regulation Branch

rSuccessful and diverse teaching experience in schools

 

LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES:

rStrong advocacy for all students and public education

rExperience working with educational leaders and staff with a vision to reflect 21st century learning

rProven instructional leadership and the ability to develop and maintain a professional work culture based on the improvement of student learning

rInvolved with or experience leading innovative student achievement initiatives

rProven skill and experience with respect to collaborative leadership, teamwork and positive working relationships with diverse groups and stakeholders within a unionized environment

rAbility to lead staff in collaborative inquiry processes and professional learning

rHaving knowledge and experience as a support teacher working with students with special needs is an asset

 

MANAGEMENT COMPETENCIES:

rKnowledge and experience with developing and implementing both school growth and personal growth plans

 rProven experience planning and implementing innovative technology initiatives to support student learning

rSound knowledge and experience with implementing personalized learning, inquiry based learning as well as play and/or project based learning practices and delivery models

rSuccessful experiences with current educational theory, assessment and instructional practices

rDemonstrated ability to motivate, develop, and supervise effective teams, as well as experience in mentoring, coaching, evaluating and managing performance to meet school and district goals

rProven experience and ability with analytical, organizational, problem solving and decision making skills to effectively handle a wide range of competing tasks and priorities with a demonstrated commitment to excellent service delivery to all students

rDemonstrated ability to manage multiple budgets and implement budget related cost controls
