Join North Vancouver School District’s administrative team as Records Clerk in Central Registration. The Central Registration position is the ambassador for the school district, first point of contact either by phone or in person for the public and new families to the school district, which requires exceptional public relations skills. Parents have a choice where to have their children educated and we are in a very competitive environment. We rely on this position to provide exceptionally helpful and friendly service to secure their choice in North Vancouver School District. In addition to maintaining detailed student records, this position deals with the public, assisting with registration and presenting a positive image for new students and families. This candidate must be patient, friendly, helpful, energetic, able to work in a central and key position in the hub of the school administration building. An understanding of the department, school district policies, Ministry of education requirements, documents and regulations pertaining to Canadian Immigration, Guardianship/family law act and the applications/implications is required. In addition, excellent communication skills, being proactive, taking initiative, problem solving and a consistently friendly and approachable manner are required.
This position requires experience and education in the areas of customer service, reception, accounting/bookkeeping, computer/software applications. We require expert skills in the areas of excel, word, PowerPoint, basic accounting and internet/website. Technical skills are required for the various software.
What will make you successful in this role is your attention to detail, the ability to input data accurately and efficiently, and a proclivity to follow office procedures and policies.
- Two years prior experience related to the work or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Completion of the 12th grade or equivalent, supplemented by up to four months of courses in keyboarding, computer and software applications and commercial subjects
- Proficiency in word processing software and information management software
This is a unionized position with excellent benefits and an hourly pay rate of $25.65/hr.
