The Greater Victoria School District provides public educational services to over 20,000 students in the Greater Victoria Area, encompassing six municipalities. To provide this service, the District has a current operating budget of $184 million and employs approximately 3,000 staff; which includes, teachers, principals and vice-principals, support staff, psychologists, speech and language pathologists and exempt managerial staff.
We are currently accepting applications for Spareboard (relief) Custodians. Spareboard work may lead to continuing employment in our schools.
Grade 12 completion is preferred and completion of a Building Service Worker (BSW) course is a definite asset.
Successful applicants must have proven initiative, ability to work independently, be able to problem-solve and possess excellent interpersonal skills to interact with students, teaching staff and the general public.
This position falls under the CUPE 382 Collective Agreement at a pay rate of $20.32 per hour plus applicable allowances and 11% in lieu of benefits.
