Assistance for Youth and Adults (CAYA)

Position Type: Temporary - 1 Year Assignment
(subject to further extensions)
Hourly Salary: $25.41
Hours of Work: 7 hours per day


The Communication Assistance for Youth and Adults (CAYA) Program is funded through the BC Ministry of Social Development to serve adults who require alternative or augmentative communication (AAC). 

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the qualified applicant will work with designated Speech-Language Pathologists to assist clients with augmentative communication systems to meet the goals established by CAYA, administer routine procedures, document clients’ progress, prepare appropriate client materials/activities and maintain augmentative communication and other related equipment and inventory supplies. 

Successful applicants will have completed a Speech Pathology Assistant Program at a recognized post-secondary institution plus one year’s related experience or possess an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.  A valid B.C. driver’s license, own transportation and willingness to travel to various locations within the Lower Mainland is required.
