District positions we are looking for Five (5) Youth Care Workers in Cranbrook and Two (2) Youth Care Workers in the Elk Valley
Permanent 35 hours/week
Postings can be found in round C2, C3, C4 or C5
POSITION: This position is permanent as indicated above and will remain posted until filled.
SD5 has positions open for Youth Care Workers for a variety of locations in Cranbrook, this could include work at the elementary, middle or secondary school level. Work is also available at the KLC in Cranbrook and in the SELC program. SD5 also has positions open in the Elk Valley covering the communities of Jaffray, Fernie, Sparwood and Elkford. Employees are hired to the district and assigned work by Human Resources or delegate.
HOURS OF WORK: Ten months per year position.
When school is in session for students.
WAGE RATE: As per C.U.P.E Local 4165 Agreement
DUTIES: As per C.U.P.E. Local 4165 Agreement
QUALIFICATIONS: As per C.U.P.E Local 4165 Job Description
1. Grade 12 or equivalent
2. Valid British Columbia Driver's License
3. A diploma/degree from a recognized course of study at an accredited institute in counseling,
adolescent psychology, child and youth or a related field.
4. Minimum of two years' experience working directly in the child and youth care field,
including extensive experience working with families.
