0.7 FTE in the area of Teacher for Visually Impaired.

Schedule to be determined in consultation with

 Christine Love, Director of Instruction, Student Support Services.  

This temporary contract position is effective September 8, 2020 and will continue until June 30, 2021 or upon the return of the incumbent, whichever comes first.

Candidates with less than the below qualifications

will be considered and provided mentorship

Qualifications: 
-current BC Teaching certificate
- Bachelors of Education
-Diploma of visually impaired
-minimum 5 years teacing experience
-Asset to have Braille, orientation & mobility
-extensive experience in collaboratively developing IEP's for students with visual impairements and related academic difficulties
-extensive knowledge and experience in inclusionary practices, school based team collaboration, classroom teacher support and integration
-knowledge and experience integrating technology int he classroom setting
Duties:
The vision teacher provides district services to students identified through assessment as visually impaired. The successful candidate will work as part of a school based team and be involved in all aspects of student programming including assessment, consultation, progress reports, IEP development and intervention.
