Applications are invited for the position of Associate Superintendent for the Greater Victoria School District #61. Duties to commence on August 1st, 2020.

Reporting to the Superintendent of Schools, the Associate Superintendent is responsible for leading our schools and educational programs with passion and integrity in order to ensure every student has the opportunity to fulfill their potential and pursue their aspirations.
The Greater Victoria School District is seeking an educational leader considered to have demonstrated the ability to develop continuous improvement in student learning at a school and/or district level and who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a deep knowledge of educational practice. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience leading mental health and well-being in an inclusive learning environment. Key attributes include: honesty, integrity, transparency, courage, open-mindedness, approachability and visionary leadership.
The ideal candidate will possess successful, broad-based leadership experience with proven success as a school-based administrator.
In addition, the candidate must, at minimum, hold a master’s degree and qualify for BC teaching certification.
Located in the Garden City of Victoria, British Columbia (population 383,000), the District serves 20,000 students, including 20% in French Immersion, 1500 indigenous students, and 1000 FTE International students.
