Music Teacher wanted for Holy Trinity School in beautiful North Vancouver.
We are a K – 7 elementary school with 228 students. We have had a dedicated music specialist teaching here for three decades…I know isn’t that great? Now she is retiring and we need someone new to come and make this program their own.
Over the years our students have learned music and movement, worked with Orff instruments, Ukuleles, and become members of our intermediate concert bands. We don’t necessarily need you to come and continue the program as is, you could come and build your own music program. The successful applicant would have TRB certification or pending, or a Subject restricted certificate, as well as approval by the CISVA (Catholic Independent Schools Vancouver Archdiocese.)
Training in Orff, Kodaly, Suzuki, or other music teaching methods is an asset. The successful applicant is a competent pianist, but not necessarily, and could teach concert band, but this too is not a must. What is most important is someone who will get children excited about exploring and creating music.
Our staff is looking for someone to join them in our journey of Inquiry where we like to have fun and laugh together as we go. We are looking for someone who would work 60%. This could be three whole days, or part days – we are flexible. It is a short-term contract but could be extended to a continuing contract. You don’t have to stay for 30 years, but it is a great place to work, so you may not ever want to leave.
Please send a cover letter and resume attention to the school principal, Kevin Smith (email@example.com)
