The Burnaby School District is looking to hire two TEMPORARY
Carpenters to work throughout the District on a temporary basis. This
position is responsible for the full range of carpentry work throughout the
district including new construction, renovation/alteration
and maintenance of School District buildings and structures.
Applicants must have:
diploma (or equivalent)
completion of the B.C. Apprenticeship Program and a valid BC or Interprovincial Journeyman Carpenter
Trades Qualification (TQ) is required
related work experience as a Journeyman (post
training and work experience in current BC construction/maintenance safety requirements
Driver’s License (Class 5)
Applicants are expected to:
knowledge of construction and construction safety practices
Possess the physical condition and health to perform the duties and responsibilities of the
job (including climbing ladders/scaffolds, and lifting and carrying heavy
Maintain good interpersonal skills and have good verbal and written
Applicants must be:
of safety procedures and materials, methods and equipment related to carpentry
with an ability to organize daily tasks, work independently and as a member of
This position works 40-hours/week (7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.), and pays $33.64 per hour. This
position includes a benefits package that includes extended health, dental and
